Selenicereus Megalanthus species is native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. It is found in tropical riparian forests and is epiphytic or xerophytic. Yellow Dragon is a Dragon Fruit or Pitahaya variety that comes from the genus Selenicereus and the species megalanthus. This variety is native to Northern South America, also known as the Colombiana variety.
